Website Redesign

Website redesign for businesses that have outgrown their site.

A website redesign rebuilds your site's structure, messaging, and design around where your business is now, while protecting what already works: your search visibility, your strongest content, and the trust you've already earned. Site Proper redesigns are for established businesses whose website no longer matches the quality of the business behind it.

Signs it's time for a redesign

  • You hesitate to send your best prospects to the website
  • The site describes an earlier version of the business
  • Visitors can't quickly tell what you do or why to choose you
  • The site is frustrating to use on a phone
  • It gets traffic, but the inquiries don't follow
  • Every small change has become a workaround
  • Competitors with weaker businesses have stronger websites

Redesign or refresh?

Not every tired website needs to be rebuilt. We'll recommend the smallest scope that solves the actual problem, and sometimes that's a refresh.

A refresh makes sense when…

  • The structure and navigation still work
  • Your message is right, but the presentation is dated
  • Visitors find what they need; it just doesn't look current
  • The platform is sound and easy to update

A redesign makes sense when…

  • The business has changed and the site's structure hasn't
  • Visitors can't understand what you do or what to do next
  • The mobile experience is genuinely difficult
  • The platform makes reasonable changes hard

What stays and what changes

What we work to keep

  • Content that earns traffic or answers real customer questions
  • URLs that rank or have links pointing at them (or redirects that preserve them)
  • The recognizable parts of your brand
  • Reviews, credentials, and proof you've earned
  • Your analytics history and Search Console data

What typically changes

  • Page structure and navigation
  • Messaging and content hierarchy
  • Visual design
  • Calls to action and the path to an inquiry
  • The mobile experience
  • Technical foundations

Protecting your search visibility

A redesign done carelessly can undo years of search visibility. Redirects and search preservation are planned before launch, not cleaned up after it.

  • An inventory of your existing pages and URLs
  • Identifying the pages that earn traffic, rankings, or links (with your analytics and Search Console access)
  • A redirect map so every changed URL points to its closest new equivalent
  • Carrying forward or improving titles, descriptions, and content that performs
  • Submitting an updated sitemap and watching Search Console after launch for crawl errors

What a website redesign costs

Most redesigns fall within the Growth Website package, starting at $4,500, because it includes content restructuring and full redirect mapping. Smaller, focused sites can be redesigned within Website Essentials from $2,500, and larger or more complex sites start at $7,500.

If a refresh will solve the problem, we'll say so before you spend more than you need to.

Frequently asked questions

Will a redesign hurt my search rankings?
It can if URLs change without redirects or strong content is removed. Every Site Proper redesign includes redirect handling, and Growth and Custom / Authority projects include full redirect mapping and search-preservation planning, with Search Console monitoring after launch.
Can you keep my existing content?
Yes. Content that performs or answers real customer questions is usually worth keeping, often restructured or tightened. Discovery identifies what to keep, revise, combine, or retire.
How long does a website redesign take?
Most redesigns take 5–8 weeks within the Growth Website package. Smaller redesigns can take 3–5 weeks, and larger sites 8–12+ weeks. Feedback turnaround and content readiness are the biggest variables.
Do I need a full redesign or just a refresh?
If your structure and message still work and the problem is mostly presentation, a refresh may be enough. If visitors can't understand the business or take the next step, the structure needs rethinking. Our free assessment is a quick way to see where you stand.
Can you redesign a website you didn't build?
Yes. Most redesigns start from a site built by someone else or on a DIY platform. We'll need access to the current site, domain, and analytics if available.
